Borealis announced that Integra Plastics AD, a member of the Borealis Group, will upgrade its facility in Bulgaria to produce recycled polypropylene (rPP) starting in October 2025.

The company will install Borealis’ Borcycle™ M advanced mechanical recycling technology, enabling the conversion of post-consumer waste into high-quality rPP grades.

This transition marks a shift from recycled low-density polyethylene (rLDPE) to higher-value recycled polypropylene, while boosting capacity beyond the current 20,000 tons per year.

According to Borealis, the investment aims to meet the growing demand for sustainable polymers across packaging, mobility, and household appliance sectors, and to help customers comply with EU regulations such as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Borealis emphasized that the upgrade reflects its commitment to expanding circular economy solutions and ensuring reliable access to premium recycled plastics for its global customers.
