Lotte Chemical Titan LINE Project Indonesia Now Operational
Lotte Chemical Titan Holding (LCTH) has officially started commercial operations at its new integrated petrochemical complex in Merak, Cilegon, Indonesia. According to ChemOrbis Editorial Team and filings with Bursa Malaysia, the company confirmed that the Lotte Chemical Titan LINE Project Indonesia achieved full startup on October 15, 2025.
The LINE Project — short for Lotte Chemical Indonesia New Ethylene Project — marks one of the largest petrochemical investments by the Lotte Group in Southeast Asia. The project was developed by PT Lotte Chemical Indonesia, a subsidiary of LCTH, and is part of the company’s strategy to expand its downstream integration and strengthen competitiveness across the region.
Key Capacity and Features
The new facility includes a naphtha cracker with an annual production capacity of 1 million tonnes of ethylene and 520,000 tonnes of propylene.
With its advanced production systems, the Lotte Chemical Titan LINE Project Indonesia will significantly enhance raw material supply for key industries such as packaging, automotive, and construction.
By linking operations in Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea, Lotte Chemical Titan improves logistics efficiency and reduces production costs. This integrated supply chain will enable faster delivery and more stable feedstock supply to customers across Southeast Asia.
Ownership Structure and Strategic Goals
The LINE Project Indonesia is jointly owned by:
Lotte Chemical Titan Holding (51%)
Lotte Chemical Corporation (24%)
Other Lotte Group affiliates (25%)
The project represents a cornerstone in the group’s long-term plan to increase capacity, optimize raw materials, and boost profitability.
By operating in Indonesia — one of the fastest-growing petrochemical markets — Lotte Chemical Titan aims to meet rising demand for ethylene and propylene products in the region.
Regional Impact and Outlook
The startup of the Lotte Chemical Titan LINE Project Indonesia marks a key milestone for Southeast Asia’s petrochemical supply chain.
It will reduce dependence on imports, create local jobs, and promote sustainable growth in Indonesia’s industrial sector.
According to ChemOrbis, the project also positions Lotte Chemical Titan to capture new opportunities as governments in the region encourage investment in value-added manufacturing and circular materials.
With operations now stable, Lotte Chemical Titan Holding is set to reinforce its presence as one of the leading integrated petrochemical producers in Asia, meeting the growing demand for high-quality materials across the region.
